Welcome to Encounter Church, we’re happy you found us. At Encounter we aim to be a church that is welcoming to all. If you’re new to Encounter we have plenty of ways to get connected, just have a browse of the site and hopefully you’ll find what you’re looking for, if not contact us and we’ll be in touch.

Who we are:

Encounter is a friendly and family oriented Church, where we put just as much importance on loving each other as we doing in growing in our faith and knowledge of God.

Vision, Mission & Core values

Our vision is to show the LOVE of the Lord in every area of Encounter Church, loving one another and our community. As family, we believe our calling is to share the Gospel openly being transparent to all.

As a ministry our mandate is to EQUIP God’s people to understand who they are and the calling they have been given by God. We will create a safe place for healing to be received and for an intimate relationship to grow between each one of us and Jesus Christ.

As a Church we believe it is important for people to be RELEASED into the calling and plans God has for us, to advance the Kingdom of God not just in the town of Ilfracombe but for this Region and Nation.

Allowing the Holy Spirit to move in every area of our lives guiding us and positioning us all where God calls us to stand.

Our mission is to live an authentic Spirit filled life, as family through:

  • Seeing JESUS IN EVERYTHING.

  • LOVING AND ENCOURAGING one another, from the youngest to the oldest, by lifting others up before ourselves. Knowing Jesus and MAKING JESUS KNOWN, reaching up before reaching out.

  • Providing a SAFE PLACE for people to develop and flourish in who they are in Jesus.

  • Providing sound Holy Spirit led BIBLICAL TEACHING - creating challenging messages for people to respond and grow through.

  • Encouraging people to walk in and understand the GOD GIVEN AUTHORITY we all carry.

  • Giving people OPPORTUNITY to be EQUIPPED to step out BOLDLY into the community and be the DIFFERENCE in every area of their influence.

Integrity: We will always demonstrate sound theological, moral and ethical principles, based on the authority of God’s word. Knowing that God sees all we do. Therefore, we will always be looking to build character through serving with both humility and integrity.

Unity: It is paramount to the mission of this Church to maintain the unity of God’s body by seeking to collaborate with other Churches.

Encounter: Facilitating an authentic, dynamic and charismatic encounter with God, knowing that He is alive and is speaking to them as His children. To that end, we must teach the practice of daily communion (prayer), continual meditation (God’s word), and sincere adoration (worship).

Honesty: We believe that one of the greatest tools for spiritual growth and personal purity is accountability: Which is achieved by building loving relationships and trust which lead to openness and honesty.

Excellence: Doing all things with excellence: We believe in pursing excellence, as a reflection of our love and reverence for God. In our thoughts, actions, relationships and ministries we will strive to do our very best to honour God with the gifts He has given us.
